Library Programs

Libraries are important to me. They are important to my kids.

Registration is underway at the Willoughby-Eastlake Library System for their summer programming.

Check it out!

What other things do you sign your kids up for to keep their minds active in the summer?

  1. The school system here runs a summer reading program sponsored by the state government. Kids keep track of their reading on a chart, recording how many minutes, what book etc. There are prizes to be won and they get a letter from the Premier (Governor). Even the really young students can participate and record what books have been read to them. Charlie read like crazy last summer. It was when his reading came along the most, he even started reading quietly to himself in bed during this time. I came to realise reading at home is what has made him a good reader. We use the library a lot too, as the kids are big consumers of books.
